I was in love the first time I tried a long arm quilt machine at the Pacific International Quilt Festival in San Jose, CA. I felt energized and driven to acquire a machine (kinda like having a crush on a boy). So after 2 years of research on the machines and the market for quilt services in the Bay Area, I have purchased the machine of my dreams - a Gammill Optimum with Statler Stitcher and have launched my new part-time business, Quilt Pixie!
I work full-time in the high-tech industry, so it was a natural fit for me to purchase the Gammill Optimum with the Statler Stitcher. My work ethic, natural aptitude for creativity, math and computers, and my passion for quilting will be applied to quilting your quilt tops with stitches that complement and enhance the hard work and passion you have achieved by piecing your top.
Mission Statement
Quilt Pixie will provide personalized customer service, creative energy and advice, with high quality machine quilting at reasonable prices.

The Basics of Long Arm Quilting
A quilt has 3 layers, the top, the batting, and the backing. Basically with a home machine, the needle stays in place, and you move the fabric under the needle to place the stitches where you need them. With a Long Arm machine, the fabric stays in place, and the sewing machine moves. You literally draw the stitches with thread by rolling the machine around with handle-bars. Quilters who love to piece tops often seek Long Arm Quilters to complete the quilting process.
